Teissia is one of the most creative, industrious, thoughtful people I know. When it came to my wedding, she was a godsend! The enthusiasm with which she approached even the most mundane tasks made the whole production run more smoothly, and made it less stressful and more enjoyable for me. She always knew just what to say, either to help me see the bigger picture, or to support me in the little details when others might have been discouraging. She is a great listener, and used her creativity as a collaborator in realizing my own personal vision. She was integral to everything from bridesmaids dresses to rehearsal dinner & wedding decorations to coordinating vendors. I could always count on her to take care of business, and keep me on task. At the same time, she was full of surprises~ sweet touches that made the day that much more special. For instance, she set up a framed photo of Rowan and me at the rehearsal dinner for our guests to sign. We hadn’t thought of that ourselves, but it is now one of our most treasured souvenirs. She was even the one who made sure our honeymoon suite was perfectly, romantically decorated and set up for our wedding night! Teissia helped make our wedding more magical- and a more well-oiled machine- than it ever could have been without her. What more could you ask of a wedding planner?

Teissia goes above and beyond what you could ever hope for- my wedding was an absolute DREAM… and that is only because every single little detail was taken care of by this incredible wedding planner. She actually took the time to get to know me so that she could accurately plan my wedding, she even thought of things that no one else did- making everything go so smoothly the day of the wedding, so that I could relax and actually enjoy my own wedding. I didn’t have to worry about anything- Teissia was there. She really is someone who cares- about every aspect of your wedding- and doesn’t care how much work it will take her, she will do it with a smile. She never let me settle for less than what I REALLY wanted… and she was so on top of everything, even the other wedding vendors shouted her praises! We are beyond grateful for what Teissia and Firefly did for our wedding. We chose to get married in a friend’s backyard in a very remote location, so the coordination of vendors and services was daunting. But Teissia handled everything so professionally and so completely, we were able to enjoy the day without worrying about logistics. I should mention that she managed to do all of this with no cell service (up in the mountains) on the day of the wedding. All of the little details were expertly executed–even little things that she could have let slide but didn’t. She is committed to her vision.
 
A major glitch happened when our seating chart, which was being written on glass window panes by an outside vendor, got broken during shipping the night before our wedding. We had no seating chart and I was panicking. But Teissia stayed completely calm and came up with an incredible idea, and she ran out last minute to buy eleven picture frames. She then printed (beautifully) each table number on paper and framed them, and hung them up around the barn where we were getting married. It looked AMAZING and she somehow managed to do this with mere hours left before our wedding, in the middle of trying to coordinate everything else.
 
Teissia also coordinated everybody (DJ, bartenders, etc.) staying half an hour later than expected because the party was so so much fun and nobody wanted to leave. And, when a really important family member was an hour and a half late, she managed to keep all the guests blissfully occupied and keep everything moving smoothly. She is a pro at managing family dynamics and was an awesome buffer when difficult situations occurred.
 
Most importantly, Teissia always had a smile on her face and kept me (the bride) calm during moments of nervousness. We always had complete faith that she would make our event beautiful, and we were not disappointed.

YOU SHOULD HIRE TEISSIA AND FIREFLY! She is like superwoman and she will make your event INCREDIBLE!!!

Teissia is a God send and I would have never enjoyed myself at the wedding and reception if she hadn’t been there. She took care of all of the vendors, helped us set-up and tear-down, told our families what they needed to be doing, helped calm both my nerves and my husband’s nerves and was generally just a treat to have around. Teissia kept the DJ, Photographer and Caterer all on schedule, made sure the photographer got all of the shots we wanted and even helped the bartender when she was busy.

Some friends surprised me on my 50th birthday with the most wonderfully spectacular party I have ever seen. It was so personal, and every detail had been meticulously planned and executed…delicious food, beautiful decorations, glorious flowers, a hilarious “this is your life” slideshow, hidden parking for the guests so that I wouldn’t recognize any familiar cars. I couldn’t believe that my friends had thought all of this up by themselves. …and I was right. It was truly an event to remember. So, when it came time for me to throw a Super Bowl Party in honor of the Saints, I hired FIREFLY to take care of everythng….and that they did. It was a New Orleans-themed party. Teissia thought of everything, right down to the gumbo, Mardi Gras beads, and Zydeco music. All of my guests thoroughly enjoyed themselves, (especailly the native New Orleanians who said it was like a little bit of home)…and all were completely charmed by Teissia. She is incredibly professional, fun, very easy to work with, inventive, and so detail-oriented! She listened to my ideas, as well as presenting me with a fountain of ideas of her own. I could actually relax and enjoy my own party (a first) because I knew I was in such competent hands. It was a fabulous evening!!! I couldn’t have done it without her. (You should see her in action! ) If you are looking for someone to help plan any event, big or small, I could not recommend anyone more highly than Firefly Events. We felt blessed in so many ways to have Firefly Events coordinate our wedding. Teissia was extraordinarily helpful to us, and took pressures off of us in ways we had not even considered. Her eye for color and design is spectacular. She added many artistic touches that were spot on, making our wedding even more beautiful than we imagined it would be. She negotiated with our vendors, getting the price of our catering down quite a bit without sacrificing quality. So a large chunk of what we paid Firefly was actually subsidized by money she saved us. She even made a phone call for us to a guest that would have been difficult for us. Someone RSVP’d and included her children…except we had not invited the children. Teissia was kind enough to call and explain this to our guest. What a relief that was, as neither my wife nor I wanted to make that call. The day of the wedding, Teissia had a calm energy about her that rubbed off on us, and she seemed to be everywhere at once. Our wedding was simply perfect.

After the wedding was over, I found out that there had been some problems with the caterer (broken plates, issues with food, etc.) But we were unaware of the trouble as Teissia handled these issues quietly, without us knowing.

I highly recommend using Firefly Events, particularly if you want someone with an artistic side and an eye for beauty.

After searching, meeting, and talking with more than 10 wedding coordinators, and being less than thrilled with all of them, we found Teissia. After meeting with her, it didn’t take long (about 10 seconds!) for us to decide to give her the reigns to our wedding…and we are so thankful we did.

Teissia far exceeded our expectations leading up to the big day. She was more than happy to meet with us on several occasions to go over the details, to do a walk-thru at the site, and to meet with our caterer. She was always a phone call away, and ready with a knowledgeable answer. She also has a good number of references for those services we had trouble finding…like her recommended hair stylist, Marin…who was truly incredible to work with AND fit within our modest budget!

Most importantly, she knew what she was doing when it came to the actual event. We are so blessed to have had her ready and willing to do so many of the little things we forgot like write out our chalkboard menu, handle flower petals in the fountain, hunt down our late lightning people, etc…and often without us even asking her. She was probably responsible for countless other things that we don’t even know about. Her experience in running big events shined through most when our bar people wouldn’t open up when we needed them on our hot wedding day. We later found out (from our parents) how she put her foot down and told them to open up or she would call their boss to make them (or something along those lines). In any case, it was because of Teissia that they opened up that moment!

Plus, when we had a last minute important “surprise” guest that flew in on the day of the wedding (which could have resulted in seating arrangement chaos), all we had to do was talk to Teissia and she handled it like a veteran. She coordinated with the vendors, changed the number of chairs at the different tables, and basically made it all happen. She’s a coordinator that knows how to get things done.

Teissia combines the friendship, calmness, and knowledge you need during the stress-filled planning and preparation period, and the focus, composure, and feistiness (see bar story above) to make the event happen. We honestly had about as problem-free of a wedding one could imagine, and a lot of that was due to Teissia. Thank you so very, very much!
