If you’re from Southern California, then you’ve probably heard of the “Pink Moment.” But if you’re an East-Coaster like us, you probably haven’t. The “Pink Moment” is really several moments that occur right at sundown in Ojai, CA. Since Ojai is lined up with an east-west mountain range, it’s one of few towns in the world to have a “Pink Moment.” For several minutes the fading sunlight creates a brilliant shade of pink on the Topatopa Bluffs and it’s one of the most breathtaking things you’ve ever seen. It’s pretty spectacular when you can witness all the elements come together to create something so perfect, which is exactly how we feel about Lily and Scott’s October wedding in Lily’s hometown of Ojai, CA.
We had so much fun planning this wedding with Lily, Scott and their wonderful families! L+S live in NYC so we were able to do most of the planning in person, which is always more fun, but rare when we plan a west coast wedding. We really love to take a local and seasonal approach with our wedding designs, and the Indian Summer in Ojai gave us more then enough inspiration! Plus, Lily and her mother, Holly, both work in the art world so their creative ideas were unending. Some of our favorite personal touches were the heirloom table linens, vintage napkins at each place setting, that Lily spent months collecting, and a homemade pie table complete with individual servings of homemade ice cream – salted caramel, honey lavender and vanilla bean. Yum!
It started with the couple; they couldn’t be any sweeter or more in love! Then, add in the best family and group of friends. Throw into the mix the perfect venue, florist, caterer, photographer, DJ (more than one groomsmen split their pants while dancing to DJ Bill’s awesome tunes) and you have yourself the Pink Moment of weddings :).
